Symptoms of an Accident

Depending on the circumstances of the accident and the severity of the impact to your body, your system can interpret injury in many different ways through a variety of symptoms.   It is amazing how many patients don’t feel much pain after an initial injury, but then 1 to 2 weeks later they begin to experience complaints.  Initial shock to the injured areas is common, and it takes time for your body to process and heal.

Injuries can Sustain Neck Pain

Our neck pain treatment starts with muscle work or massage to first loosen up the area.  Our care often comes with less side effects than standard medical care.

What Works

Low back pain chiropractic treatment has been shown to be much more cost effective, costing approximately 40% less than standard medical care while getting better results, according to the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics.

Why is it constant?

Headaches can often be contributed to another main issue of a dislocated rib joint, and inflammation caused by an accident.  Allowing a professional to assess the root of your headaches will offer a large relief.

Common symptoms of auto injury

Arm, shoulder and wrist pain is a common symptom of accident injuries.  Our chiropractors and licensed massage therapists are trained and specialize in methods to relieve extremity pain.

What is it really?

This large, long nerve in the human body emerges from the spine out of the low back region. Running through the glute muscles, it is the longest nerve as it travels down to your lower leg.  Its primary function is to maintain the muscles within that area.

Make it stop!

Numbness and tingling at shoulders, back, arms, and legs is a very common result of an accident.  Your licensed chiropractor will perform gentle adjustments, along with electrode therapies and massage to support your compressed nerves and tight muscles back to health.

It's just swelling...right?

Our chiropractic and massage care provides gentle and safe options for these types of injuries.  Swelling around the effected area is common, but not always the end of it.  Strains to the muscle can cause related numbness, headache, and life long pains.  Don't suffer in silence!

How Long Does Treatment Last?

Depends on the severity of your injury

We tell most of our auto and work injury patients that you should expect anywhere between 1-3 months as a ballpark for treatment for pain.  This approximate figure is for how long treatment will last to fully heal your body from the injury.  We tend to find that  neck pain and shoulder pain takes longer to heal than low back pain, but everyone is different.  This type of treatment, including adjustment, massage therapy, and taught home care is a combination that typically yields the fastest results.

Our treatment is geared to have more regular visits at the beginning, and as time goes on it is our intention to decrease how often you come in. Something to think about: it takes 2 months for new connective tissue (muscle and ligament tissue) to fully mature, in which time you need to ensure that you are healing correctly by being in active care with Chiropractic, Exercises, and Massage.

Is there a correlation between how bad an accident was and how severe my pain is?

The short answer is no. Although generally severe accidents result in more serious injuries, there has been evidence again and again showing little correlation between how bad an accident is and how bad the pain will be - it depends on the individual and circumstances with the accident. Some people can be in a minor accident and have serious injuries, whereas others can be involved in a major accident and walk away virtually unharmed.
